This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our current PreK class LOVES puppets! We just have a few, but they use them to put on the best puppet shows! The children make tickets in the writing center, design props in the art center, and practice their show. Then they call us all to the carpet to put on their production. This process builds on their early literacy skills through writing, speaking, and listening.

To lean into my students' interests I would like to get them more puppets for their future productions!

I have included a selection of people and animal puppets that we do not have. My plan is to rotate puppets in and out of the station so that the children feel like there is always something new. I can't wait to see how they use them! What great storytellers we have in our class!!
