Kindergartners need many hands-on activities to help them through the stages of early literacy. One way children improve their understanding of stories is to act them out. I am asking for a donation of puppets so that my kindergartners could act out stories we read in class. At this time we have a puppet theater but no puppets. Acting out stories not only builds comprehension skills but also fosters community-building and social skills, since the children work together to act out the stories. Acting out stories also builds language skills. It is important that early-childhood students have as much experience using language as possible. When they act out stories, they will acquire this experience. So I am kindly asking for a donation of puppets for my class of about twenty kindergartners. These puppets will enhance the early-literacy experience of my students and build social skills.
