My young learners love to imagine and act out stories.
Many of my second grade students are English Language Learners.
Many of them receive free or reduced lunches because they live in poverty. Despite these challenges, my students are motivated, energetic readers who love to learn. They read everything they can get their hands on and they are getting more and more excited about writing stories.
My Project
The puppets will inspire my students to write stories and plays. They will work together to put on productions that they will share with their parents and with other classes. They will improve their writing skills and they will become better English language speakers.
This project will help my second grade students grow as readers, actors, writers, and as members of a strong class community.
As they write plays and practice reading their scripts their reading and writing skills will grow stronger and stronger.
