This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students in my classroom are amazing first graders, who I consider to be the most unique group of learners I have encountered thus far. These children are considered high-risk children because of their socio-economic status and their ethnicity, but when I look into their eyes, I see little ones who have an infinite love for learning.
The children in my first grade classroom are brilliant individuals, who are eager to learn, and their most amazing quality is that they are always willing to go above and beyond for one another, which usually means offering a helping hand, a hug, or a kind word.
My school is a place, which is highly focused on academics, but also works with our students to learn to love one another, to pursue difficult tasks, to be truthful, and to reflect on all of their choices. My school is a place in which children are encouraged to take risks in a safe and nurturing environment in which they will be able to learn and thrive. My school is a place in which we believe that all children can and will learn regardless of who they are and where they come
My Project
These materials will encourage my 1st grade students in so many ways! These materials will open a world of imagination and creativity through creative play and storytelling.
These materials will help students practice the important skill of retelling after listening to a story and focusing on the key events that take place while using their imagination and creativity!
These materials will also be used to encourage students to think about literacy and reading in ways that are not only academic and engaging, but creative as well. Please help me give my student the opportunity to engage in learning and fun! Thank you!
