My students are 1st graders. These children are considered high-risk children because of their socio economic status and their ethnicity. These children are brilliant young minds, who enjoy learning while on the move and this is exactly what I aim to provide for them in our first grade classroom. My school is a place, which is highly focused on academics, but also works with our students to learn to love one another, to never give up, to always be honest, and to learn from their mistakes. My 1st grade classroom is a place in which my students are encouraged to learn in the way that they learn best. Whether they are bodily kinesthetic learners, visual learners, or anything in between, I make sure to make their learning experience unique to their learning style. My 1st grade classroom is a place in which children are encouraged to take risks in a safe and nurturing environment in order to learn and grow.
