My Students

I teach elementary and middle school students in an urban school. My students are full of energy, creativity, and talent.

My students love music!

I teach in an area with a lot of economic hardship which limits my students’ access to instruments, private lessons, and technology. However, it in no way limits their love of music and potential to compose and perform. They truly enjoy playing all the instruments in the classroom, learning to sing and play their favorite songs and write their own music.

My Project

We need a drum amplifier for our newly donated electronic drum set. We were the fortunate recipients of an electronic drum set from an Eagle Scout Project to donate unused instruments to public schools. The students love, love, love this super cool drum set! Everyone can take turns practicing drum beats during music class with headphones without disrupting the rest of the music class.

A Drum set is one of the instruments students are most excited to play!

Initially students want to hit all the different drums and cymbals and make some noise, but then they want to learn how to play a beat like a real rock star. There are plenty of opportunities for students to be the class drummer and play for the class, but in order for us to hear them we need an amplifier. A drum set amplifier is different from regular amplifier, it is specially designed to amplify the different range of sounds in a drum set. Help us amp up our drum set and pump up the volume so everyone can have their rock star moment!
