This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students in our classroom are a hard-working, bucket-filling, college-bound group of fifth graders. We affectionately call ourselves The Smithsonian Scholars. We represent the diversity of our city - we are Black, Asian, Filipino, Latino and Arabic. About 80% of our students live below or close to the poverty line. About half of our students are English language learners.
While we come from a wide-range of backgrounds, we all come, connecting in our classroom to learn and grow together!
Please help us shine our brightest every day of the school year. We appreciate your considerable kindness. Thank you.
My Project
An attractive and educational classroom is so helpful for student success. This year I am teaching math and science standards to the fifth graders at our site. In only three weeks of school, many of my students have expressed their fear of math and their struggles in the past years. I want to support them as much as possible. Content posters on the walls of my class keep students reminded of the processes and practices they need to know to master the standards.
The ball inflator is essential!
I received flexible seating, and my students are raring to use them. The only hindrance is that I have no way to pump the seats. Having an automatic ball pump will make quick work of the inflation process.
