Puma Express Book Delivery

Help me give my students motivation to keep reading the wonderful books from our library. This would initiate a delivery system for students to place holds on books and get them delivered to their classroom with snacks and supplies.

My Project

I'm the school librarian at a public high school in Charlotte, NC with over 2,500 students. At PHS, our students are majority black and Latino with a significant population of kids who speak English as a second language and kids with disabilities. Our students love to read, but I'm trying to promote the library and encourage more students to check out books, even when they aren't able to visit the media center in person.

The idea for Puma Express book delivery is that students who place books on hold could get them delivered to class by my help desk kids in a Puma Express gift bag, which would include the book(s), along with a snack, school supply, and a crossword puzzle or poem.

Please help my students learn to embrace reading for fun!
