This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are part of a community that is impoverished and underprivileged. 100% of them receive free lunch due to their economic status and around 70% of them are learning English for the first time. Our school is a dual language school where we are teaching students to thrive in a multilingual world!

Our students come from hard-working families that value education and look forward to a brighter future for their kids- but they depend on the teachers to show them how to get there.

Parents and school personnel share a consuming passion of making and reaching goals by working together for our children.

My Project

I am transitioning my classroom back to Kindergarten and with that comes the need for smaller chairs. The larger chairs in my room will be donated to an upper grade class who is in need of some nice chairs- but my little ones are left seat-less!

We need a place for our 5 year olds to sit while they listen, read, write, speak, and learn.

Having a class set of chairs that aren't missing a foot, cracked in the back, or metal bolts that snag hair, will give my students the opportunity to focus on their learning instead of their sitting. Thank you for considering our classroom with your generosity.
