Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our neighborhood is located in an impoverished area of the city. Many of my students are English Language Learners and require many visual cues, schema building and adaptations to everyday teaching.
Currently, our school system is participating in new reading, writing, math and typing programs in hopes of improving scores on high stake testing. Every little change requires more preparation and needs for my class.
My class is ready to learn and will benefit so much with some outside support from friends like you.
My Project
My students come to school eager and ready to learn. We do not have student printing capabilities to fully access our new technology and become published authors.
The supplies I have listed will be used in our daily learning lessons and activities and allow students to create and publish their authentic work.
Our writing program is creating wonderful and talented writing pieces. However, we do not have printing capability in our classroom to take things to the next level and become "published" authors. By having a printer in our classroom, that students can access, our class will be able to utilize technology to it's fullest potential. Students will be proud to show off their writing to friends, teachers, and family. In addition, my students will take pride in their writing masterpieces and display throughout our school as well as inviting parents to come in and take part in our learning.
