Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am tasked with the pleasure of teaching second grade students all subject areas. These students are curious, intelligent, and creative beyond all measures. They attend a Visual and Performing Arts Magnet in Los Angeles. Being that our school is an Art Magnet one of their favorite things to do is art, so I try to integrate it into as many subject areas as possible. The students come from various backgrounds and we are limited in the resources available to us.
My Project
Help my second grade students become published authors. We have been working hard this year on becoming excellent writers. We will be culminating our year with our very own published piece of writing. What better way to showcase our learning but in a hardbound book illustrated and designed us? We are so excited to share our creativity with one another. Once the books are complete we will even share our stories by visiting other classrooms and reading our stories to them. We will learn about the important content area of writing while having fun and expressing our creativity at the same time!
