Writing is difficult. However, with the correct tools, it can become fun. Teachers Pay Teachers has some wonderful resources on teaching all types of writings that are standards based. In addition, my students LOVE to have their writings published! I did not realize what an impact this simple act would have. As they wrote the latest narrative writings, instead of editing their papers on the computer, I printed them in batches as they finished. We then conferenced and made any needed edits and/or revisions with their choice of colored, erasable pen (even edits must be changed.) Finally, their final draft will be printed and displayed in the classroom.
Many students have a dislike for the writing process; however, by providing helpful writing resources and taking the time to conference, edit, print, and display their writings, they are able to see and share their hard work instead of it being hidden in cyberspace.
Having the resources in this project will be an incredible timesaver, as well as, provide a feeling of accomplishment for each student.
