This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach Dual Credit students in Psychology and one of the units we cover is Development. In order to help my students understand the concepts that we cover in this unit the students have a project where they take care of a flour baby for a week. This helps them to understand the concepts we discuss, such as Piaget and Erikson. It also helps the students because they are able to really see what taking care of a child is like as they have to care for a week for 24 hours a day. If they have work or practice they must find child care. The fabric will help the students to dress their babies and understand the importance that clothing meets in Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. The entire school does get involved in the project. Please help give my students this experience.
