Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Going into teaching I knew I would encounter a wide range of students, but I did not realize how much my students would impact me. My classroom is located in a low socioeconomic community with limited resources. Despite the challenges my students face, they come to class daily with an eagerness to learn.
I would like to provide for my students the things they might not have been able to have otherwise.
My students frequently come to school without the basic necessities. Something as simple as having a personal backpack is a luxury for some of my students. Every student deserves to feel well taken care of at school and that is what I want to provide for them.
My Project
My students often come to school with nothing in hand. I would love to provide my students with everything they need to succeed in the classroom. Providing students their own personal folders and writing journals allows them to take pride and ownership in their work.
Supplying the basics in my classroom takes the pressure off the families when sending their child to school each day.
I want my students and their families to feel as though they are well taken care of in my classroom. These supplies will make a huge difference for my students and their families. Providing a safe and comfortable learning environment is very important to me.
