Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As teachers, we are tasked with providing our students with high-quality curriculum and activities and challenging them to excel and further increase their ability in literacy, science and real-world experiences. To provide students with equitable access to high-quality education means we need high-quality resources that spark our students' imagination and provide them with engaging and educational activities and stories. I am requesting resources that provide my students with engaging, educational supplementary tools to spark their interest in Spanish-speaking countries. The Voces digital online resources contain relatable texts that directly relate to my students' daily lives and the technology they use. The resources also help improve the four world language readiness standards: communication, comparisons, cultures, and connections for my students in a very productive manner.

As students read stories in Spanish, they will read about people in other countries and learn how they use technology and do different activities.

Students will compare and contrast their experiences to those of students from other countries and be able to view the importance of technology in those countries. They will also be able to see how social media impacts communities in various locations of the world.

My project incorporates STE within the Spanish curriculum by connecting scientific principles to the use and impact of technology in Spanish-speaking countries.
