My Project
Hi, my name is Ms. Gray, and I’m a middle school social studies teacher in a small community. I want to create a space where every child feels safe, supported, and ready to succeed. That’s why I’m starting a Care Closet—a place where students can discreetly access essential hygiene items, school supplies, and snacks whenever they need them.
As an educator, I believe deeply in Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs—the idea that students must have their basic needs met before they can truly focus on learning.
If a child is hungry, worried about hygiene, or lacking basic resources, it’s difficult for them to concentrate or feel confident in the classroom. The Care Closet is one way I hope to help meet those foundational needs, so every student feels seen, cared for, and ready to thrive.
