This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The closure of the schools due to the pandemic took everyone by surprise. I never thought I would never see my students for the remainder of the school year. Being that our schools are now closed my students and parents still keep close contact. At the time I am uploading videos and activities on classdojo (a platform that helps me keep in touch with my parents and students) and I zoom in on Wednesdays.

My students come from a low-income community and find it difficult to obtain materials such as print-outs, crayons, paints, etc.

Despite the hardships they are currently facing with the schools closure, my students continue to show enthusiasm towards learning. They are always happy to see one another on our zoom meetings.

My Project

My students and I love color! I mean what would a world be without color, right? Therefore, having a color printer in our classroom but at my home for now has been very helpful in my students learning. Unfortunately, we are now in need of toner for our printer. Toner will give me the opportunity to continue printing from home and to be able to send individualized materials to send home to my students. The toner will provide my students with hands-on activities to be able to work on at home. This project will help my students continue learning through hands-on activities and adapted modified activities based on their individual needs. The toners will give me access to print more activities from home and be able to send them to my students during this crucial time.
