This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students at our school excel beyond their obstacles. Despite being low-income and coming from San Diego's underprivileged communities, our students have the drive and motivation to change their circumstances and life goals into something worth striving for...a higher education.

All of our students want to be the first in their family to graduate from college and create a different life than the one they have been living.

Our students strive for higher education by attending school longer hours and for a longer school year making them more prepared for college. Being surrounded by such motivation is contagious and inspiring.

My Project

The basic necessities I am requesting through donor's choose are meant to help families attending our school who are really struggling to purchase basic hygiene needs. Items such as toothpaste, deodorant, toothpaste, laundry detergent are important for students to feel comfortable in class. Without these items students tend to be embarrassed and find it difficult to concentrate at time.

Having basic needs met is crucial in academic success as well as emotional stability.

We want to ensure that our students know that we care for their overall well-being by providing for their basic needs. Having teachers who know and care about students' needs is imperative in building relationships.
