Help me give my students a Chromebook, some snacks, and activities book to use at home during this COVID-19 pandemic.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. D.'s classroom raised $530

My Students
My school is an ethnically diverse Title I school in Georgia. Many of the students are receiving free lunch provided at school. Many of them live in nearby motels. I service students with special needs in a small group setting. Their family environment is very challenging for my students, and they are socially, economically deprived in many areas. They come to school expecting teachers to care, love, and provide for their needs.
Due to the current virtual learning situation, my students need a computer to connect with me to continue their learning.
A couple of my students are not completing their virtual learning assignments. Their parents were in a challenging situation with providing food for their families. This situation takes priority over educational and other needs. Since my students are already behind their grade level, I am worried that their education gap will place them further behind in their academics. Though I provided them with the work packet, the need for my exceptional education students was greater.
My Project
This Chromebook will reach one student in my class whose education comes to a stopping point due to a lack of technological devices at home. When in school, my students learned and practiced new skills every day. This Chromebook will lighten up my student's learning at home and increase the achievement score. I will use this technology device to collect data and monitor progress for the IEP goals.
During COVID 19 Lockdown, many students are privileged to learn from home with the help of technology tools.
In order for my students to be a part of this learning and to fulfill my duties as an educator, the Chromebook will satisfy this purpose. My students need to be engaged inside their motel or apartment. The activity book will keep my students to enrich their learning during their Quarantine time and alleviate any stress of being inside. The snacks will fill their stomach when they get hungry. They will feel blessed, positive, and caring during this unprecedented time in their childhood years.
