Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach reading intervention to about 70-80 students over the school year. The connection between reading and writing is a powerful way to orthographically map words or word parts and respond to reading by demonstrating their comprehension skills either through sketching pictures or producing writing responses. So, these supplies will be used throughout the year. Pencils and erasers let the students know that writing and making mistakes will be needed to learn. It builds their confidence and allows them to take risks. Chart paper can be given for students to work in pairs or small groups to create diagrams such as flow charts, tree maps, and others to demonstrate their thinking and knowledge. Lastly, the fluorescent light covers will remove the glare on the smart board so they can see the board a lot clearer. Please support them as they work toward closing their reading gaps and fly.
