My Project

Over my seven year teaching journey, I’ve learned more and more about what it means to develop my students in preparation for their futures. There are a myriad of ways that takes place! One of the most practical is ensuring they are well-versed and competent for the digital age they now live in, and will continue living in after leaving my classroom. Students who are digitally savvy are on a clear path to being successful in the future.

As such, my classroom has grown to have a heavy reliance upon technology.

This comes about in ways you may expect, with activities like accessing primary sources and articles discussing the ways our country has and continues to evolve. However, I’ve come to find how computers and internet access can even grow students’ abilities to check in with their emotional well-being. Technology helps my students grow in so many ways!

Unfortunately, this does mean that students are at a grave disadvantage if their computers are not working. Sometimes, this means their computer battery is dead and they need to sit somewhere that is near an outlet. However, sometimes they take advantage of this so they can sit near their friends, which honestly can ruin an entire class of 20+ students. Extra portable chargers would go a long ways so they have to stay in their assigned seats that make class run so much smoother!
