Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

We have hundreds of students enrolled at our school, and 100% qualify for the free lunch program.

Now more than ever, our minority students are in need of quality books with characters who look like them.

The love of reading begins with finding an exciting story! What makes it more exciting...is to find books whose characters you can relate to and who offer exposure to the traditions of another culture. Educators like me LOVE TO SEE KIDS READING!!

Please help me to provide quality books to my students who do not go to the public library (it is too far) and whose school library doesn't always have enough copies of multicultural books for their reading level.
