Protein to Regulate and Support Students with Big Feelings

Help me give my students high protein snacks to support learning. Many of the kiddos have high sugar, high processed foods and I would like to support my students with foods that help them regulate and focus.

My Project

I am a school counselor and work with the students who often have big feeling events in their families and can struggle to stay on task and focus in the classroom.

Students spend early morning check in and break times with me.

I like to provide the students with a high protein snack as a way to start their day and keep them going in the middle of the day.

We also know that high sugar/highly processed foods do not support students in learning. When I provide high protein snacks it appears to support children in focus, feeling full, and regulating emotions.

High protein foods are one way I can support kiddos with focus and managing their bodies.
