Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students in our school community often come to school hungry and unable to focus during classes. My students would like to create a service project where they can provide others in the community with something nutritious to help them get ready for a day of learning. This service project will include having our student leaders hand out snacks before school and in between classes to other students in our school and the elementary school across the street. My students hope to provide all students who are hungry with healthy snacks that will sustain them throughout the day.

In this project, I have requested a variety of protein-filled snacks that students will be able to distribute to others in the community.

The granola bars, soup, popcorn, meat sticks, and requested items are in single-serve containers so they can easily be handed to students on the go.

Every student needs to have what they need to be successful at school and food insecurity should never be an issue that holds a child back.
