My Students

My students come from all over the world, but call beautiful Worcester, MA their home. Each of my students has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and 50% are English Language Learners. The vast majority of my students are economically disadvantaged. While my students struggle with overcoming learning difficulties, they are also some of the most intelligent, inspiring, and generous people you could ever meet. Many are on track to be the first person in their family to receive a high school diploma and attend college.

My Project

Students have found it difficult to work with the touchpads and have requested that we ask for mice and mousepads to help them utilize the Chromebooks fully. Headphones with microphones will allow students to listen to tutoring programs such as Khan Academy, as well as do voice typing using Word or Google Docs. Hard shell cases will help protect these valuable pieces of equipment for years to come.

My students use these Chromebooks to apply to colleges, fill out FAFSA forms, conduct research, type papers, access online tutoring programs and visual aids, and communicate with their teachers.

They are also starting to learn to use important programs like Powerpoint, Word, and Excel, which will be vital to their success in college. Let's make it easier for students to use technology and preserve these resources for future students!
