I am so excited to begin my first year as a Pre-K 4 teacher for 20 little learners this year! My school is in an urban school district on a university campus. Students come from diverse backgrounds and are ready to play and learn. All students receive free breakfast and lunch daily. These students may or may not have been in school before and need to feel the safety and develop the love of learning school offers now.
My Project
On January 19 our district has determined it safe for students to return to the classrooms after being completely remote this school year. PreK students are social beings with play an instrumental part of their learning. In an effort to make this a reality for my students I would like desk shields to help our safety during breakfast and lunch, mask breaks as well as individual learning times. These shields would provide the added protection needed for a safe environment but also allow for the PreK students to interact with each other while being socially distant.
