This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The iPad mini case my students and I are requesting will enable us to protect our new iPad mini we are receiving through DonorsChoose. Having an iPad mini and protective case will give us the ability to project the focal plane of our microscopes on a large screen. It will provide us the chance to create strong dialogue of what we observe on a slide viewed by the entire class. Much like close reading in Language Arts, students will have the opportunity to do a close reading of what they view in the focal plane and analyze it with all of their peers in a whole class setting. This experience will reinforce vocabulary as students are given the chance to discuss and analyze as both orally and in extended responses.

Your donation towards a proactive iPad mini case will allow our students to become more prepared for the careers that await them in microbiology, entomology, pathology, and many other fields of science, because they won't have to worry so much about their new technology being damaged as easily.

This iPad mini protective case will also enable our kiddos to walk around outdoors more carefree, while uploading images of their microscope specimens found around the school grounds.
