This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our high school in East San José, our multimedia team documents school life—from sports games to community events—empowering our students to become visual storytellers with professional-level skills.

Unfortunately, our previous gear case was lost during a recent sports event.

Thankfully, our cameras and lenses were in use at the time, so the loss was minimal—just a few cords and accessories. Still, this incident made us realize how essential a secure, reliable case is for transporting and protecting our equipment.

We’re requesting the Pelican Air 1535 carry-on case, a lightweight yet incredibly durable hard case built for professionals. With this upgrade, we’ll have room for our new Sony 200-600mm lens and the flexibility to carry batteries, cords, microphones, and more—safely and securely.

We had one similar to this funded by Donorschose a few years ago so we're familiar with its security and durability. Whether we’re filming student-athletes on the field or covering events on campus, this case helps us keep doing the work that makes our students feel seen, heard, and valued.
