Protecting Our Damp Curriculum and Equipment with Safe Storage

Help me give my students a place to organize, store, and protect their curriculum, notes, and hearing assistive technology equipment from the elements.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Murayama's classroom raised $750

My Project

I am requesting these cabinets to ensure the safety and preservation of our essential hearing assistive technology equipment and curriculum materials that our students rely on. This past winter, a devastating storm caused flooding in our classroom, resulting in significant water damage. With limited storage options available, we currently have to store our materials on exposed shelves and even on the floor, leaving them vulnerable to further damage.

When rainwater leaked through the ceilings, it damaged our assessments and ruined important student work, curriculum resources, and educational activities.

The introduction of durable, metal cabinets will provide much-needed protection, keeping everything dry, secure, and safe from the elements. This will ensure that our students’ learning experiences remain uninterrupted and their resources intact.

The index cards and composition notebooks will also be invaluable tools for our students. These supplies will enable them to create their own flashcards and personalized learning activities, while also offering them a safe space to write, draw, and express their thoughts. These materials are essential for fostering creativity, and self-expression, and reinforcing learning in a meaningful way.

To further support organization and efficiency, the file folders and file boxes will give students a structured and organized way to keep track of their work and curriculum materials. This will help them stay focused, reduce clutter, and allow them to easily access the resources they need to succeed.

By providing these items, we can create a more functional, safe, and supportive learning environment, empowering our students to thrive both academically and personally. The investment in these resources will not only protect vital educational materials but will also encourage creativity, organization, and a sense of security in their learning space.
