My Project
In my fourth-grade classroom, materials are everything—from sets of leveled readers to curriculum guides and hands-on learning tools. Each year, I carefully gather and store these essential resources, but without proper storage, they end up stacked by windows, creating safety hazards and risking damage. The challenge becomes especially urgent in the summer, when outside programs use my classroom. Not only is access to windows important for ventilation and light, but piles of books and supplies in precarious stacks are unsafe and unsustainable. With limited space and no secure storage solution, I find myself scrambling to protect resources that I’ve invested in over years of teaching.

Three large storage cabinets would allow me to organize and protect all of my vital materials, keeping them accessible, intact, and safely out of the way. With sturdy cabinets, I can ensure that summer programs can use the room freely and safely, while also preserving the tools I need to start the next school year strong. This simple yet impactful solution means fewer lost or damaged items, better safety for anyone using the space, and a smoother transition into each new academic year.
