This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you ever had something really awesome fall and break and it couldn't be replaced? Have you ever bumped a new phone or some other type of technology and then you had to start all over again to make it work for you again?
Our students range in ages from six years old to twelve years old.
We have first through seventh grade and serve a very wide range of disabilities including Di Georges Syndrome, Autism and Down Syndrome. All of the students receive free lunches because they are from low income families. We don't have much money for supplies or other technology but we have received donations that help make us one of the leaders in research and documentation of evidenced based practices for a school classroom.
My Project
We received IPOD Touches for our classroom, and we are using them, and the kids love them and are doing amazing things with them including learning games, writing, Internet and use it as their daily schedules! I have actually never seen the students more motivated to work. They have been an awesome addition to our classroom and I am sure will dramatically change my students lives!
I was so happy to receive these donated Touches from Donorschoose, however I want to preserve these Touches so that many students can use them for many years to come.
In order to preserve these Touches we really need cases for them. We also really need a charger because I am not allowed to download things on my school computer so I have to download and connect the Ipods to my home computer, but I want to make sure they are not erased when we connect them to charge them.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
