I teach third grade students in a remote classroom setting. My students come from families who are new to the country. Some of my students require special services. My students come from varied backgrounds with different economic needs. Many of them are being raised in single-parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. Currently, we are working in a remote setting and we require materials to help us learn more easily.
Teaching and learning at home are challenging and I need a variety of devices to support my students with the technology issues they are having.
I am using a laptop and I have access to a Chromebook. However, many of my students are working on an iPad and they are having difficulties because they do not see the materials and access programs like Google Slides and Pear Deck the same way that I do. It is impossible for me to try to assist them without the same technology.
My Project
I just had my project funded for a brand new Apple iPad to help support my students while learning remotely. I need a protective case to keep it safe so that it does not break.
While working remotely I often need more than 1 device so I need to keep my iPad protected.
I will be using the iPad to assist my students who are struggling with technology. I will also need to keep it standing up next to my laptop so that I can view my students in our google meets while I am presenting information and sharing my screen on my laptop.
