Help me give my 3rd graders the opportunity to show their STEM thinking skills this year by designing a prosthetic leg capable of supporting their weight. The true test will be when they must be able to make at least one right and one left turn! We will be using pvc pipe, pool noodles, sponges, duct tape, toilet plungers and a variety of other materials. They must sketch their prototype, collaborate within their groups to determine the most stable, comfortable, and functional design as well as problem solve errors in their design. This is going to be an AMAZING activity that will allow my students to show their creativity and become little innovative engineers!!!
