My Project
Our school has a school wide PBIS incentive to improve student behavior and responsibility. I would love to encourage students to gain interest in the STEAM fields by providing incentives selected specifically because they foster creativity, problem solving, collaboration and other soft skills needed for engineering and technical fields. Students are able to purchase items using points they receive from anyone on campus when showing our school's guidelines for success.
I'd love to fill our PBIS store with STEAM toys and activities that foster problem solving, critical thinking, collaboration, and other soft skills needed in the STEAM field.
Building block toys allow students to follow directions, yet allow for creativity when challenged to build something other than what was intended. LED tablets help students draw and keep their minds active anywhere they are. Creativity helps them during the engineering design process to think outside the box. The Razor scooters are a high ticket item to bring interest to the store, as well as to get students thinking about how technology has improved or made our lives easier. These scooters will also be brought up during STEAM classes by our teacher during engineering challenges. Thank you for supporting our students!
