This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Attendance is everyone's business. We provide academic and social-emotional services to improve attendance rates, academic achievement, and decrease the number of students who drop out of school. Students and families receive intensive support services to help identify and overcome barriers that impede regular school attendance and success. The relationship I cultivate with students combines incredibly with classroom instruction and receptibility.
Research shows attendance to be a strong predictor of academic performance.
I've witnessed students come to school with enthusiasm that transmits into the classroom and makes students more receptive to learning. Our plan is to reward students who maintain excellent attendance; while also providing support and encouragement to students with improved attendance. Incentives are utilized to engage students toward a common vision of achievement and positive school habits. Gift cards are used as PBIS incentives or rewards for students struggling with behavioral management and positive habits.
