Promoting Positive Behavior in Preschool

My Project

Preschool is considered the foundation of learning because it provides young children with the crucial social, emotional, and cognitive skills necessary for future academic success. To help promote positive behavior in the classroom we have rewards in a treasure box. When students have the opportunity to earn a reward for good behavior or meeting classroom expectations, it helps create excitement and accomplishment for that child.

Positive reinforcement encourages desired behaviors, builds self esteem, improves social skills and creates a positive classroom environment.

Positive reinforcement is a highly effective method to promote positive classroom behavior in preschool, as it encourages desired behaviors by actively praising and acknowledging children when they demonstrate positive actions like sharing, listening, or following instructions.

We currently use a treasure box for our rewards and prizes in the classroom. This project is not only requesting rewards for the children, but also a fun home vending machine that we will use when it is time to get their reward. When the children earn their reward, they will be given a coin to operate the machine to receive their reward. Who wouldn’t be excited to get a prize from a vending machine?
