Persistent. Hardworking. Spirited. Innovative. These words describe the students at my school. As 5th grade students, they are excited to leave their mark on the world. No matter what, I believe they all deserve a top-notch education. Furthermore, I believe technology access enhances learning experiences. Technology opens up endless opportunities for the outside world to enter inside the walls of my classroom.
I want to foster 21st Century skills amongst my 21st Century learners.
Each year, I welcome the relationships we create in our room that last well beyond the year they are with me. They make me a better teacher with their questions, interest, and passion.
My Project
We are a technology infused world and my students would benefit from a classroom that operates the same way. Right now, we have three Chromebooks provided by the school system. With a class average of about 25 students, I would love to have two additional Chromebooks which will provide the ability for me to have students working in functional small groups for Reading and Writing instruction.
As developing readers and writers, students with Chromebooks will have access to digital educational opportunities right at their fingertips.
They will be able to research, create, publish, write, and read!
Students will be able to write, edit, and document share to create better pieces of writing and to enhance their understanding of the writing standards they are expected to master. Students will be able to access writing from their peers as well as students at other elementary schools. Students will be able to read a variety of topics based on their interests, as well as work on grade-level projects and assignments in small groups.
With frequent access to technology, my students will be even more prepared for the real world which continues to rely heavily on technology.
