My Project
My students are hard-working, curious, 2nd and 3rd graders. I love how well they collaborate especially across grade levels. To promote financial literacy and give them a project they can work on together, we are opening a general store that the students can build and manage. Our store will include snacks, supplies, and trinkets, all decided upon and sold by students. Students will learn basic financial literacy such as saving, spending, and making change. Students will also learn how to manage inventory and purchase goods. At the end of the year, I expect students to know US currency, how to make change, and the importance of saving and spending wisely.
