I inherited a classroom library from a teacher who worked at our school for years. While there are many titles, they need updating. I need to supplement our library with books that interest my students. Students need access to high-interest, quality literature. I want to motivate my students to read even more by giving them access to new titles and replacing those titles that are falling apart! Not a day goes by that I'm not taping up a poor old paperback that is falling apart at the seams. A robust classroom library provides access to quality literature for everyone. It ensures that all students have enough books to read at school and at home to develop literacy. There's nothing like seeing a child's eyes light up when they've read a good book!
