My Students

Our school is a "Title One" school located in a very rural area with limited resources. (Definition: "Title One" schools have a large concentrations of low-income students.) Our student population consisted of 74% African-Americans, 20% Caucasians, and 6% other ethnicities. The majority of my students do not have access to the internet or computers outside of the classroom.

I would like to provide my students with the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in the 21st-century job market.

I would like to introduce my students to the world of Computer Science, which would expose them to potential careers involving programming, video game design, app development, and computer animations.

To successfully incorporate a variety of programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML, and problem solving skills. I will a digital camera, microphones, and green screen equipment to incorporate a varied of lessons. With your help, we can provide my students with the skills to succeed in the tech industry.

My Project

I am requesting your assistance to expose my students to the world of computer science through the use of video and images. I would like to introduce my middle school students to the world of coding, by giving them a competitive edge, as well as exposing them to the possible career paths such as video game design, app design, and computer animations. Inside my classroom, they would be introduced to computer languages such as Javascript, HTML, and Vidcode.org. They would also have an opportunity to develop their problem-solving skills, by developing apps and screen filters, as well as writing their own unique programs. It would not only be life-changing for my students but would also have a positive effect on their communities.
