This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A lot of our students are from Spanish speaking homes. If we do not have the necessary materials for them, then they are more likely to stay behind. Our students are energetic, inquisitive, and always looking for the latest materials.

Since our school is a bilingual Spanish-English academy, our students love to be able to talk to us in both English and Spanish.

My Project

I have selected popular books like Dog Man, Smile, Babysitter's Club, and Pokemon to promote reading in both English and Spanish! When students find books that are interesting, they are quick to pick up a book and take it home to read.

Students are learning about how fun reading can be, and with the right books, they can become avid readers!

During the pandemic, our bilingual students suffered a major learning loss. Through these fun books, they will be able to practice reading in a fun manner in either language. Let's get fun books into their hands!
