Mrs. Sidney from Carson CA is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a television/DVD combo and TV stand to view science experiments on PBS Kids and additional classroom supplies such as markers and stickers to improve science awareness and curiosity.

My students are all four years old and in Pre-K. They love exploring and investigating with everything in the classroom. My goal is for their little brains to always be curious and explore possibilities as inventors. I want them to wonder and ask themselves why and how things happen or work.
My students are beautiful, energetic and excited about learning.
Our school is in a low income area and our school does not receive funds for anything above and beyond paper and pencils. I enjoy providing a quality education for my students and this is made possible by the generous donations from Donors Choose. My students usually come to school for 2 1/2 hours, but due to a change in programming for our District, they will come all day. This is a long time for four year old students, so I want to make their experience as engaging and exciting as possible.
I envision my students watching science programming on PBS Kids to further enhance the learning experience for my students. There is a very exciting program called "Sid the Science Kid" that I would love for my students to experience regularly. The TV/DVD Combo and stand will make this vision possible. I am positive that my students will love and be challenged by the program. Each day the students will learn different science concepts. At times, when I need the students to listen quietly, the set of headphones will make this possible. My student will draw pictures of the experiment with markers when I do a follow up lesson with them. I will use a tabletop caddy to house the markers. As a reward for putting forth effort on the science lessons, I will give students stickers to acknowledge their work. Finally, while students are drawing or demonstrating their experiment, I will play music from my phone using the Bluetooth speaker. I am really excited to implement this project.
Donations to this project will give my students science concepts to tantalize their little brains.
I see my students as scientists, doctors, researchers and inventors. Developing my children's sense of wonder will ignite the desire to explore and investigate cures and solutions to the problems of the world. They will ultimately make a contribution to society in a creative and positive manner.
