My Students

My students come from a low socioeconomic area and do not have the same advantages that many other wealthier districts have. The schools they attend are extremely poor, outdated, and underfunded. The school is located in a high needs area and most students at the school receive free lunches.

Despite all this, my students are driven, goal-oriented, and absolutely amazing!

They work extremely hard to pass every hurdle that comes their way and I could not be more proud of them! I am confident that these students can and will succeed at their life goals, and I am here to help supply them with the tools to do so.

My Project

Students learn in a multitude of ways, whether its visually, verbal, hands on, a combination of all, and many other ways. Currently, I am unable to reach all those ways because I am very limited with the tools I possess. At present, I have a broken Promethean board that is so old the parts to repair it are no longer made. To utilize it, all lights must be turned off to see the screen, and none of its tactile features can be used. I also have one chalkboard to write on as well. This is not enough to effectively reach all types of learners. I feel that I am failing these students.

It is my goal as an effective teacher to reach all students and give them all a fighting chance at success.

This Promethean board will help facilitate this. In a world that is ever expanding in the technological fields, it is incredibly important to keep up with these changes. I firmly believe that technology is a field of the future that will help our students soar into greatness and it is vital to the benefit of all students to employ it and be a part of it.
