My Students
The world is not void of color; neither should be classroom projects and presentations. Thinking and presenting in black and white often squelches creativity. Color printers are in short commodity at our school, and having one in my class will encourage thinking outside the box.
In any given year, I will teach between 90 and 150 ninth grade students of varying levels.
These students attend freshman campus with over 800 other ninth grade students. My students come to me to learn about literature, writing, and reading skills. Many do not have access to both a computer and a printer and often ask to print their work in my classroom. Depending on the assignment, I cannot always oblige. On more than one occasion I have wished to type an assignment during class and be able to print the paper before they leave; however, without a printer attached to their computer, this is proving to be just a dream. I always make every class, regardless of level, complete numerous projects a semester. Unfortunately, many projects are turned in in grayscale as we have stopped purchasing color ink cartridges due to budget cuts. Having a color printer in my classroom will allow my students the chance to produce top-notch projects of which they are proud.
My Project
The HP printer I have selected is a multi-function printer, which means I will be able to print my students' projects and papers, scan images, photocopy pages (great when someone has forgotten an assignment sheet), and much more all in the comfort of my classroom. Students will be able to see their products immediately instead of having to wait until I get the chance to print their work on the teacher's copier. Class essays can be printed and edited.
Please help me provide my students with the means to see their products come to life in color.
Students will not have to run around trying to find a place to print pictures for their projects or worry their brochures will look silly in gray, black and white. With a multi-functioning classroom HP printer, I will be able to provide for my students an environment in which their creativity does not have to be squelched. Thank you so much for your help.
