My students need a projector.

My Students
How do you access information? Books? The Internet? Unfortunately, my high school history students do not have access to textbooks or computers on a daily basis. With the help of an LCD projector, I can open the gates of information to my students and propel them toward success.
My students are an energetic bunch with a hunger for knowledge and opportunity.
They attend an urban high school in a low-income area where approximately 85% of the students receive free and reduced lunch. 100% of my students are members of racial minority groups.
My Project
I am requesting an LCD projector for my history students. Utilizing a projector in my daily instruction would revolutionize my students' education.
Students would be able to see pictures of life in foreign cultures, hear the voices of Holocaust survivors, watch video clips about Civil Rights leaders... We could also analyze primary sources together and learn effective note-taking skills through daily classroom presentations.
For English language learners, a projector would be instrumental in helping them access information on a deeper level by providing pictures, videos, and written directions for each element of instruction.
My students deserve the same access to educational resources and opportunities as their American peers. Unfortunately this is not the case. I have classroom resources fully developed and ready for implementation- all I need is your help in obtaining this piece of technology that would open, quite literally, a WORLD of information to my students.
An LCD projector would enhance the learning of EVERY student in my classroom.
With your generosity, approximately 150 students who are eager to learn will be able to more fully engage in the important lessons that history holds. The projector would be in use every hour of the school day - from the opening activity to the closing "exit ticket." I cannot think of a better investment.
