Projector For Mr. D's 10th-11th grade Social Studies Class
My students need a classroom projector to help them engage in Social Studies through Audio/Visual materials, that can not be displayed with our current resources.
This project expired on September 10, 2013.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Our school is lacking in technical resources. These are inner city kids whom get bused in from all over the city and have very limited resources outside the classroom. Every piece of technology we can offer during the day will increase their potential to absorb the material as thoroughly as possible.
My scholars come from very poor neighborhoods.
These students do not come from a culture that puts a lot of value on education. However, they are actively seeking to better themselves by coming to I-Can Schools instead of attending the failing inner city schools.
I am requesting support to purchase an Optoma DLP projector. My school does not have the necessary budget to provide the classrooms with anything besides the most basic materials and a projector is something that could change the environment in my classroom by keeping the students engaged and interested in Social Studies.
The projector will allow me to be able to keep my students more focused on the subject matter we are trying to learn each day by helping me to peak the interests of the students by providing a medium through which I can show videos, give lectures with power point, or even show my scholars what we are talking about with images of places or people they may never have seen before.
