My students need a projector to present their presentations, take tests, view lessons, how to videos, and other documents via a document camera, computer or DVD player.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Excellence is achieved through focusing on the small details." This quote drives my instruction and is the vision of their futures I wish the students to adopt. The funding of this project will give students the opportunity to use tools that will help them reach their goal of academic excellence.
As a whole, the students at our school come from diverse backgrounds and lower social economics.
Our school is a relatively small K-8 elementary school with 3 teachers per grade level and an average of 28 students per class.
My current seventh graders are a wonderful group of young adults who consistently strive to improve themselves both socially and academically. Since our students come from such a diverse background our classroom discussions are rich in different points of view and solutions to problems.
My Project
As with anything in life, having the right tools for the job at hand leads to a more complete and successful result. With this in mind, receiving a projector will enable my students to continue getting immediate feedback on the hard work they put into their studies of mathematics. This immediate feedback is attained through the use of our E-Instructions Classroom Performance System (a system that gives each student a clicker to answer questions) that we use 2 to 3 times per week to assess student growth and to encourage student participation. The projector also enhances lessons and modeling of the mathematics process to help create a more clear understanding of the concepts being taught. We currently have one projector that we share between the 3 classrooms at the seventh grade level. By adding a projector to my classroom my students are impacted every day and the students have opportunities in all of their classes.
The funding of this project would mean a great deal to our student population.
By receiving a projector my classes will be able to continue using technology such as our document camera, and the e-Instructions Classroom Performance System. The students enjoy the Classroom Performance System as it provides immediate feedback on their understandings and progress. Moreover, it is the small details, such as having the correct supplies, that allow true excellence to be achieved.
