This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Greetings! I am a fourth year elementary teacher. I am currently teaching in a charter school located near the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development complex where multiple socioeconomically disadvantaged families reside in single-family dwellings. The government housing project is home to the majority of the student population. Believe me when I say that these students deserve my project.
My students care about their education, and I am seeking to enhance their learning through the use of a document camera.
Unfortunately, there is a limit on resources that I can get for my class from the school. I depend on donors like you to help fund my project.
My Project
Students approach problems very differently. With this Donors choose project I aim to show other students the value of their peer's thinking, mistakes, and problem solving skills specifically in the areas of math, and science.
I seek to enrich conversations and discussions in class with the use of this wireless technology.
Oftentimes students avoid sharing their thought process with the class due to stage freight, but with this document camera I could go to them where they can present from the comfort of their seat. It also eliminates students wasting time gathering materials to present in front of the class.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
