This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Your girls do what?" This is what many question as I describe to them what our girls do at our school. Our girls do EVERYTHING from creating beautiful art in my classroom to using a drill from the moment they start the 6th grade.

More than half of our girls will be the first in their family to attend and graduate from college.

Our school serves students grades 6-12 from all over the Austin area and are a representation of our cities diversity.

My Project

Our art classroom currently does not have a projector!

Having a projector in the art classroom would help by bringing outside art into the classroom through video and images.

Many students are visual learners and need to SEE how to something. Crowding over a table to see a student share their work or teach a technique does not work very well with large classes. Students will use the projector and a document camera to share with their peers their current work to edit and critique. With this projector students will be able to see outside art, their own art and their peers!
