This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We're 2/3 of the way there. We have a great projector and a fabulous SMART Board. Unfortunately, our laptop is dying a slow death.
My kids are smart, inventive, curious, and deeply motivated.
Our school is in an urban setting and our kids face many disadvantages that an urban setting poses. As a Title One school, more than 90% of our children are eligible for free lunch. The great thing is that my kids come to school ready and excited about the learning process.
My Project
I have some of the best technology available, but we're missing a critical piece. The school laptops that we've been using up to now are starting to die a slow death. We've scrubbed their memory and tried to make it work, but my classroom will soon lack a computer. We need the netbook so my students can access the Internet, check their grades, connect to the SMART Board and use the online encyclopedia.
Please help keep my students motivated.
Technology keeps the kids interested and enables them to reach beyond the outdated textbooks and see the stars. There are so many obstacles to learning, please don't let the lack of technology doom my kids.
